Hello! 2 days ago I drove 3 hours from Hanmer Springs and on the way stopped off at a little cafe in a town for lunch. Yesterday morning I went to go feed wild eels with sausage before I drove to Darfield from Hokitika and it was pretty cool! There must have been at least 20 eels in the small pond. In Hokitika I also went to sunset point where you can get an magnificent view of the sunset. During the drive I listened to an audio book, slept and ate lunch. I stoped for 2 hikes in Arthur’s Pass before reaching Darfield, and walked about 3 kilometres. The hikes I went on were called bridal veil falls and devils punchbowl. The water was a beautiful blue and the water coming down the waterfall was splashing me on the viewing platform. The hight of the waterfall for devils punchbowl was a jaw-dropping 430 feet (131 meters)! I had to cross 2 bridges to get to the waterfall at the end of both hikes and they both went over a river that was a shimmery teal. After I got to the place I was staying at, I walked to a restaurant for dinner and then walked back to wach part of a movie before bed. The house I was staying in was a house decorated with a bunch of Amarican memorabilia like pillows of Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. I was feeding the eels with sausage and it was so cool watching them come up to eat the sausage.

Hello! 3 days ago I drove to Darfield from Hokitika and it was pretty boring. I listened to an audio book, slept and ate lunch. I stoped for 2 hikes before reaching Darfield and walked about 3 kilometres. The next day I drove 1.5 hours to Akaroa. 2 nights ago an alarm went off calling the volunteer fire brigade but my dad thought that it was a tsunami warning and made a big fuss which made me extremely worried but my mom calmed me down. Today I am in Akaroa and there is no wifi so I will be posting this a few days late but this is what I did today. I went on a kayaking trip to potentially see some dolphins. I saw 1 dolphin diving in and it was pretty cool to wach the water splash as it dove in. Akaroa has the smallest dolphins and penguins in the world! The dolphins are 120 cm tall and the penguins are 30 cm tall. I went on a walk last night and saw a bunch of penguins! The penguins live in boxes and not burrows because when they dig burrows the sheep stamp on the burrows, squishing the penguins. I was a bit surprised when I found out that the penguin conservation people don’t get any funding from the government. I forgot to mention this earlier, but neither does the kiwi hatchery! The penguins were adorable and they were also a beautiful blue. They evolved to have the blue colour to match the colour of the water around them. Did you know that not all penguins need to be on ice? Some penguins live in Africa and Australia! The penguins that people show on TV are always in Antartica or somewhere cold, never in other places! I did not know this about New Zealand, but they have palm trees here! Also, I am going to Australia in 3 days and am super exited (this sentence is from today not the 23rd)!If you have any feedback for my blog I would be happy to read it to try and make my blog better. Thank-you!
Here are some photos(videos won’t upload):
