Going to Singapore in 2 days! Bali recap

Image
Hello! I am going to Singapore in 2 days and I am super excited!!! Bali has been nice, but I haven’t been eating a lot of home cooked foods because to be able to get meat, you have to be at the market at 5 am. Also, stuff in Bali is so cheap! You can get 4-5 ice creams for less than 2 dollars (20 000 idr)! There are also lizards EVERYWHERE! I have probably seen at least 50 lizards since I got to Bali! My Christmas was spent in a beautiful, quiet place on the beach, and the snorkelling was spectacular! The water was warm, there weren’t a lot of waves, and the fish were super close to shore so I didn’t need to swim out so far to see them. There were multiple types of fish and I also saw what looked like a bright pink underwater mushroom! I don’t have a photo of it, but I hope that you can visualize what it looked like. I think the difference between the touristy parts of Bali and the traditional parts of Bali are very easy to differentiate. In the tourist parts, there are big store...

In Bali, Indonesia

Hello! I am very sorry that I haven’t been posting, as I have been busy with science fair. I got in Indonesia about a week ago and have had some fun adventures since then. I went to a cooking class, and made 5 meals. Everything was so clean and it was super fun going into the garden and picking our vegetables. Did you know that in most of the world you can’t flush toilet paper? There is a garbage can beside the toilet to put it in. I did batik painting for the first time and it was super fun! First, you will pick a design that you want. There are about 30 designs drawn on separate sheets of paper. Then, after you have the design picked out, you will trace it on fabric with pencil. After it is all traced, you will re-trace it with hot wax. If you are a kid the instructor will do it for you, and it you are an adult you will do it yourself. After it is traced with the wax, now it is time to paint with watercolour! Once you are done painting, it will sit to dry for 10 mins. The instru...

Before, during, and after the cruise.

I am very sorry that I haven’t made a post in a while but there was no Wi-Fi on the cruise so I couldn’t publish it on Google. This post occurs over several days.   First day of the cruise- I woke up and ate a few pieces of fruit before getting in the rental car and heading to the airport to drop it off. Walking 9 minutes to catch an uber to the cruise terminal was a little tiring with all the luggage but my family and I managed to do it. First impressions are amazing! There is a Christmas tree, and the room is so clean and just wonderful. 3 days into the cruise- I went to the pool once so far and it was incredibly crowded. The kids can get free ice cream and practically all the food is free! The cruise was going to go to the Great Barrier Reef but there was a huge cyclone so it got rerouted to Sydney. It was quite disappointing but I got to wander the Christmas markets with my mom and also got to go to scenic world. Scenic world has amazing views of the blue mountains and p...

First week in AUS!

Hello! Sorry I haven’t done a post in a while. The first place in Australia I went to was Sydney, and there I went to the Taronga Zoo and the Opera house. At the zoo I found out that there are spiders that eat birds, and they are 30 cm long! Crazy! The Sydney opera house is 67m tall and can hold 5,738 people. You cannot go inside the opera house for free, you would need to have a show ticket, or be with a guided tour. After Sydney I went to a holiday park for 2 nights, and it was amazing! There were 2 movies on a big screen every night, and there were pools, waterslides, a playground, and an adventure camp! I signed up for 2 of the camps and it teaches you what do do if you are stuck in the wild, what plants are safe to eat, and if there wasn’t a fire ban, how to start a fire. My dad then drove me and my family 4 hours (with 2 hour long stops) to Brisbane, where I am now. I went to the art museum earlier today and it was pretty exiting! I had a lot of fun playing around with the differ...
