Dubrovnik, Croatia - 3 countries and 1 month left!

Hello! I was in Croatia for 2 weeks, and we did quite a bit. We went to 2 bonus countries, went to 3 museums (unfortunately i can only remember 1), and had lots of ice cream. The 2 bonus countries we went to are both 1-3 hour drives from Dubrovnik, which was nice. We went to Montenegro and Bosnia, and they were both quite similar to Croatia. All we did in Bosnia was see a UNESCO bridge, that dates back to 1452, but was rebuilt in 2004,  shopped. In Montenegro we visited a church on an island and it was pretty cool. I don’t know how it was built though, because it is quite old and they didn’t have the fast boats that we have today. A few days after Montenegro we went to a history museum and it had more facts about animals than actual Croatia history! The last 2 floors were blocked off so we couldn’t see the rest which was sad. At the museum I learned that there is a plant that grows in Croatia that looks like glass. When they found out it was a plant, no one believed it! I don’t remember the scientific name, or the common name, but it looked super cool. We went walking in a park after the museum, and out of nowhere, a snake appeared in the middle of the path! It was actually quite uneventful and just slithered back into the grass.

There are a lot of stairs in Croatia and unfortunately we rented a place very high up from the main town, so we were walking 500 stairs per day. My mom, sister, and I did eventually get sick, and after that we took it easy for the rest of our time there.

We had a photo shoot, and this is one of the photos.
Beautiful view of a fortress

Lots of sea urchins!

  1. Hello Allison!

We miss you, a lot! We cannot believe the colour of the water in Crotia, stunning. What kinds of fish did you see? We noticed you went through a lot of museums, we look forward to hearing about them when you get back. Do you have one that stands out as a favourite? We are glad the encounter with the snake wasn't to traumatic... as it seems like it could be scary. How big was it? What kind of snake? Sounds like you are getting your excercise with all those stairs, be sure to stay to keep hydrated.
Firas is wondering which soccer game you watched people leave from, he thinks he was watching the same one.
The plants that looks like glass sounds really cool, we hope you bring pictures upon your return! We hope you have recovered from the sickness and feeling better.

We just started incubating our duck eggs, they wil lhatch May 20th! Francisco is keeping them extra warm. We recently had our third and final Simburwan elections- Olivia and Aiona elected to Majority Governemnt and Eli and Declan to the Official Opposition.
Have you listened to the new Taylor Swift album? What did you think?
    Safe travels!
    Sincerely,
    Simburwans

    1. To answer your questions, I don’t know exactly what kind of fish I saw, I am feeling better, and I have listened to the album and loved it.
